Takeo and Ureshino in Saga pref. have so much to offer to tourists. Other than the “Bihada No Yu” onsen (hot springs) are known to be good for your skin. There are various tourist places that we would like to introduce.

1. URESHINO Tea Hall “CHAOSHIRU”

Opened in April 2018 as a new exchange base through Ureshino green tea.
You can learn the history of Ureshino green tea and how to make it and then taste the good tea. There are many experience activities available.

2. Ninja Village “Hizen Yume Kaido”

The Ninja Village is a re-creation of the actual village from the Edo Period so all the houses are old-style. Ninjas are hiding throughout the village and visitors can dress like a ninja, go throw the Shurikens and blow the darts.

There’s plenty to see with the Ninja Show, Daidougei (street performances), and others!

3. Takeo Shrine

Takeo shrine was built at the foot of Mt. Mifuneyama in order to be this regions peace and calm. Takeuchi-no-Sukune was the most longevity god, lived 360 years so they are believed to bring longevity and good luck.

The Great Camphor Tree of Takeo, estimated the long years of its life of 3,000 years, is still vigorously living for eternity. As a result of withstanding the harsh environment, the base has become hollow. It is inspiring for Totoro’s house of Gilbi studio.

4. Mifuneyama Rakuen Park

It is said that The 28th lord of Takeo Clan, Shigeyoshi Nabeshima, created this garden spending about 3 years in order to complete his cottage. 2,000 of cherry trees and 200,000 of azalea in spring and colorful autumn leaves in fall create the stunning scenery with a cliff of Mt. Mifuneyama in the background, that reminds you of landscape painting.

In summer, there is a new installation sees spacious Mifuneyama Rakuen Park temporarily transformed into an interactive art space with atmospheric night-time projections using rocks, trees, ponds as their canvas.

5. Yutoku Inari Jinja

Yutoku Inari Shrine is one of three major Inari shrine in Kashima, Saga, Japan. In early summer, the contrast of the vivid vermilion color of the buildings and the surrounding greenery is truly beautiful.

Shops and restaurants line the main approach to the shrine. You can buy soft ice cream and Yutoku Inari Yokan (sweet Azuki bean jelly), a very popular shrine souvenir.

After a day tour, why don’t you spend a night at the onsen ryokan? Relaxed your body and soul and more importantly the hot-spring waters are good for beautiful skin. Dress a Yukata (Japanese Baht robe) and have a nice kaiseki-style dinner that is also offering at the ryokan will be perfect!
